LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Workshop
“Doing it Better in the Country”
How can we achieve better outcomes for people who are LGBTIQA+* in our region, workplace, work roles and in our everyday interactions with others?
Participate in this online 2 hour workshop and enjoy:
An introduction to LGBTIQA+ inclusion through real stories from the LGBTIQA+ community,
Evidence based information, resources, and practical tools.

  • Creation of safer, richer and healthier relationships and workplaces
  • Increased confidence and understanding of LGBTIQA+ individuals and their needs
  • Better understanding of LGBTIQA+ terminology and how to incorporate it into everyday language
  • Better outcomes for LGBTIQA+ people living in rural and regional Victoria
  • This workshop is delivered from a local, rural and regional perspective.
This workshop will actively explore:
  • Who or what is LGBTIQA+? Exploring the meaning behind this evolving acronym
  • Why is it important to consider people who are LGBTIQA+? Why are they grouped together when they can be so different?
  • What are the connections and differences between sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression?
  • What is LGBTIQA+ intersectionality?
  • How can we better demonstrate to workers and community members that we understand and will positively engage with people who are sex and gender diverse?
  • What language do we need to use when respectfully engaging with this community?
  • How do we address unhelpful assumptions, negative stereotypes, discrimination and stigma?
  • What laws do we need to be aware of?
About Us:
Way Out and CLIP (Country LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Program) are LGBTIQA+ youth and adult focused programs of Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health.
We work toward improving the mental health and wellbeing outcomes of the LGBTIQA+ community, provide education and training and work in partnership with the wider LGBTIQA+ sector.
Qualified workshop presenters have an extensive knowledge of, and experience working with, the LGBTIQA+ community in rural and regional Victoria.
Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health is a Rainbow Tick Accredited organisation.
