QNews Magazine

QNews is a Queensland-based media organisation covering the latest in local and national LGBTIQ current affairs, community issues, entertainment and more.

A new print edition of QNews is released monthly, every second Friday, and new content is published on our website daily.

QNews is proudly Australia’s largest source of information for the LGBTIQ community. We provide news, views, covering arts, entertainment, politics, health, travel, events and much more.

Our mission is to inspire readers by making a positive impact in their lives through telling the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community’s stories.

QNews encourages and enables people to improve relationships and engage with each other, wherever they are in businesses, schools, with their families, or in their neighbourhoods.

QNews was first launched in December 2000 and was originally printed as a tabloid newspaper after the demise of LGBTIQ publication Brother Sister in November 2000.

The first issue of QNews hit the streets on December 15 that year.

Almost two decades later, QNews is distributed to more than 500 locations including cafes, nightlife venues, hotels, bookstores, arts venues, education centres, libraries and more right across Queensland, as well as Northern NSW and the Northern Territory.

To find out where you can find a printed copy of QNews, visit our Distribution page here.

We also offer businesses the ability to reach our community via Q Directory, a second popular website for LGBTIQ people seeking LGBTIQ-welcoming businesses. Visit Q Directory here.

Pride Business Network

Pride Business Network

As a non-profit community organisation, the Pride Business Network was founded in the early 1980s by a group of people committed to networking LGBTIQ+ businesses in Brisbane. The socio-political factors that affected business operators and professionals in our community have changed significantly since the incorporation of the Free Business Association (later renamed The Gay and Lesbian Business Network, and more recently the Pride Business Network), however, its intents and purposes have not.

Committed to bringing together like-minded people, the Pride Business Network was created to act as both a support system and a way for businesses to connect, consult and confide. Focused on the LGBTIQ community, the PBN has worked to establish a network that is thriving and social, but most importantly, inclusive. The key goal of PBN is to help and encourage fellow businesses to swap ideas, collaborate and form long-lasting relationships.
